Melkweg moves to more spacious office in De Klomp

The size of the new office should offer space for the growth ambitions of the international trading house of the VanDrie Group.

On 3 May 2021, Melkweg, part of the VanDrie Group, moved into their new office building in De Klomp (municipality of Ede). Melkweg is active in the global trade of raw dairy materials for both food and feed. Melkweg supplies the international food industry with a broad assortment of high-quality dairy products and ingredients such as milk powder, milk proteins, whey powder and whey derivatives, cheese, butter and butter oil. Currently, Melkweg has 22 employees with a turnover of more than 350 million euros, and is active in over 80 countries across the globe.

The company has experienced significant growth over the last few years, both in terms of the number of employees as well as turnover. Johan Kaashoek, Managing Director at Melkweg: “Globally, the demand for qualitative and high-value raw dairy materials has been increasing for years. The dedicated team of Melkweg is working towards broadening and innovating our activities every single day. We do this with our expert knowledge of the various markets as well as unburdening the client of the logistical process. This naturally entails significant growth.”

The previous building on the Johannes Bosboomlaan in Ede has served as the office for almost 25 years, but with the expansion of the team, it is reaching capacity. This is why the office building on De Klomp was purchased in 2020. Kaashoek: “This building with its classic 90s architecture was built by the firm Sibbing, which at the time, was a renowned trade company in dairy products.” After a thorough renovation, with respect for the style of the building, a modern, representative and sustainable office has been created. “This way, we preserve the history of the building and at the same time, we invest into the future ambitions of our company,” says Johan Kaashoek.
