History

The ‘founding father’ of Melkweg is Mr. C.J. Smallenbroek, who established Melkweg in 1993. He combined a 25 year experience in dairy with the start of a young and fresh company. All ingredients were in place to make from Melkweg a success!

In 2004 Melkweg has been acquired by the VanDrie Group, the world’s leading integration in the Veal Sector, and major user of dairy products. Within the framework of the group, Melkweg keeps it’s fully independent commercial position, and exclusive dedication to dairy products for food- and feedapplications.

Being part of such a powerful organisation allowed us the last years to expand strongly our activities on the world market, taking profit of the souring world trade in dairy products. Our sales outside Europe are growing rapidly and represent to date the major part of our turnover.
